Happy Halloween
Dear Customers,
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and the threat it still poses to our community and our employees, we regret to inform you that we will not be handing out candy at Union Market for Halloween this year.
Please help us spread the word and thank you for helping to ensure the safety of essential workers, your fellow shoppers, and the community as a whole!

Our Market Picks: 6 Exciting New Finds
Here are six new products we hope you’ll love as much as we do.
Peak-Season Local Produce
In-season produce is one of our favorite things about summertime, and we’re excited to be getting lots of new, local fruit and vegetables delivered as the season continues to ramp up.
This weekend will mark the very first big, juicy Jersey tomatoes on our shelves and the first sweet corn from upstate New York, along with delicious Early Magic plums and fresh apricots from the Finger Lakes, as well as adorable miniature Fairy Tale eggplants.
Juneteenth: Celebrate Freedom
This Friday is Juneteenth, a holiday celebrating freedom and marking the emancipation of slaves after the end of the Civil War. In light of the killings of Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and Ahmaud Arbery, among many others, the significance of Juneteenth resonates more than ever.
Union Market stands in solidarity with the Black community, and we know that like us, many of you will be commemorating Juneteenth this weekend too—whether through vigils, protests, memorials, celebratory picnics and cookouts, or all of the above. READ MORE
Spring Highlights & Memorial Day Specials
Here at Union Market, we’re making an effort to be grateful for all of the things we can celebrate right now, even amidst a global pandemic. Not only is it peak season for ramps (a culinary highlight of spring!), but with Memorial Day coming up, this weekend will mark the unofficial beginning of summer and we can start to look forward to more sunshine and warmer weather.
Chef Sandro Romano has created a delicious new quiche for Union Market to showcase the garlicky goodness of ramps. This limited-time-only quiche also contains sweet peas, spinach, parmesan, and mint and it makes a lovely centerpiece for brunch or the ideal contribution to any Memorial Day picnic. You can find it at our Prepared Food counter right now—but hurry, because ramps season is notoriously brief and you don’t want to miss it!
Download our custom shopping list
As we continue to attempt to “flatten the curve,” leaving the house to get groceries is an essential trip many New Yorkers still have to make on a regular basis. With that in mind, a simple and effective way to maximize your trips to the grocery store and be a safer shopper is to use a list.
Having a list will ensure you’re as organized as possible and will help cut down on extra trips out for groceries. It also prevents you from spending extra time inside the store trying to figure out (or remember) what to buy. That’s why we’ve created a blank grocery shopping list to help make your trips to the store quicker, more efficient, and less stressful. This PDF document can be filled out by hand or digitally, and it’s also printable so you can even take a paper copy with you to the store.
Cooking During A Quarantine
As New York City continues to grapple with coronavirus, day-to-day life looks very different than it did just a few short weeks ago, especially in the kitchen. Most of us are cooking at home now more than ever. We’re relying on pantry staples, limiting trips to the market, and making the most of fresh produce.
If you’re looking for some extra inspiration in the kitchen right now, we’ve gone through our archives and gathered six of our favorite recipes that are nourishing, hearty, and relatively simple to make. They use shelf-stable items you probably have on hand or produce that’s readily available, and they feature versatile ingredients that can be easily modified or substituted. In other words, these are all perfect recipes for quarantine cooking!

Celebrating Easter has traditionally meant gathering together for a festive meal with loved ones, but as New Yorkers continue to shelter at home and practice social distancing, celebrations will inevitably look a little different for many of us this year. Whether you’re celebrating with family virtually or cooking for a smaller crowd than usual, Union Market is here to help make Easter dinner as delicious as possible.
Celebrate Passover
While you may not be able to gather with all of your friends and loved ones in person for Passover this year, don’t let shelter-at-home directives stop you from celebrating with a delicious home-cooked meal.
